Following up Molnews project, 21 would-be journalists were allowed to visit the prestigious editorial offices of ‘Corriere della Sera’, a major Italian broadsheet. That was an unforgettable experience for those who dream of following in the footsteps of the renowned Italian reporter Enzo Biagi or simply are busy enjoying their weekend time writing reports.
Everything started in June when a course of journalism managed by Ms. Maria Pia Ebreo introduced the mechanics of reporting to the editorial student staff of MOLnews and MyMol from Liceo ‘E. Duni’ in Matera, Italy.
It was a valuable, first-hand experience in the premises of ‘Corriere’ - a broadsheet paper we all pride on. Incredibly enough, the students had the opportunity to have a face to face conversation with the journalist, Paolo Rastelli, (the coordinator of both the printed and the on-line issues) in the historic, age-old ‘Albertini’ conference room, where daily staff meetings take place.
The would-be journalists were also able to get a closer look at sports journalism as they were offered the lucky chance to call at the ‘Corriere dello Sport’ offices within the same building block.
Being greatly impressed by the first part of the seminar, the young reporters also visited for two days the editorial staff offices of the well-known Sole24Ore.
Additionally, thanks to the kind cooperation of Francesca Padula, a journalist from the same broadsheet, the Mol student staff experienced full immersion in the world of journalism.
Hard to believe, they met Marco Mariani (the news editor) and two very important women journalists, Eliana Di Caro (foreign affairs) and Alessia Mancaferri (editor of the on-line paper Nova24).
By experiencing all such events like the meetings, the debates, making new acquaintances with the journalists from Radio24, together with the graphic designer, MOL editorial staff explored directly the secretive world of journalism, trying to make the most from this unique trip.
