Liceo Classico Duni-Matera-Italy

AuschwitzMaybe the great errors man has made in his history have have been useful. Maybe wars, massacres, the shoà have something positive in their absolute negativity. Maybe today man can look behind and wonders how could I do that? Or may look forward forgetting six million men, six million lives, thoughts, their sacrifice be useless forever.
The memory of the shoà, the search for those truths that can give us a better world were the main subjects of the meeting “Auschwitz ieri e oggi” which tooke place on Tuesday 4th october in Matera. We missed mrs Elisa Springer who survived the shoà and wrote splendid books, subject. She died on 16 th september 2004 in Matera, she loved very much always present at the meeting, so chair was left vacant giving evidens that her memory and her terribile experience wil be never forgotten.
In the morning there were speches bay the guests who were  applauded by the audience  made of students. Important lectures were  Teresa Swiebocka, a researcher at Auschwitz museun, Mr Gunther Schwarberg a german gournalist, and mons Antonio Ribaldi who told his exploits during the nazis occupation.
In the afternoon Mr Modiglioni, an important member of the roman jewish  comunity after that director of Auschwitz museum spoke about scientific experiments  on children in Aushwitz the future of the world depends on us, if we are able to get the teachings our history offers to us our future will be probably free from war and enlightened by friendship.
